Breakfast and hot lunches are provided by Cocos. All meals are prepared on site to the highest of standards. A HACCP system is implemented and two of our staff are trained in practices of food safety and hygiene. We have a ‘no sweets’ policy at Cocos. We only allow healthy snacks for normal days at Cocos.

For each child’s birthday a homemade cake is baked for all the children to enjoy. Special occasions and holidays are celebrated with homemade cookies, ice cream and treats that the children are involved in preparing.

Health and Safety

Comprehensive policies and procedures are implemented at all times at Cocos. We take reasonable steps to ensure that hazards to the children both inside and outside the classroom are minimised. We have annual fire audits and monthly fire drills. We also have a health and safety representative.

All staff are trained in paediatric first aid. Developmental charts are kept for each child in the crèche, recording their progress and development at 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 2 years and 3 years. We also have a staff member trained in the awareness of child protection.


Our biggest asset at Cocos is our staff, many of whom have been working here for quite some time. They are responsible for nurturing and guiding your child through their time at Cocos. We employ a dedicated and caring staff and encourage staff to constantly update their skills. All have completed training courses, e.g.

Our staff/child ratio is in accordance with child pre-school regulations 2006. All staff are vetted for Garda clearance through the NCNA.
